Why Removal of the Beavers is Essential

Removing the beavers from your East Texas property may be necessary for several reasons. While beaver can play a role in maintaining wetland ecosystems by creating dams that regulate water flow and provide habitat for various species, beaver activity will often pose challenges for local property owners.

Beavers are known for gnawing on trees and building dams, which can lead to flooding of nearby areas, damage to valuable vegetation and trees, and degradation of infrastructure such as roads. Regarding timber, damage to trees is often noticed long before it becomes critical, but usually not before a few valuable trees are lost. Nationally, beavers are responsible for millions of dollars of timber loss annually.

Don't let beaver destroy your East Texas property!

Beaver Removal & Trapping: A Tricky Task

Removal of beaver can certainly be a tricky task. There are a lot of factors that go into successfully removing the beaver from your property, and some of these factors include the time of year, size of the property, the population size of the beaver colony, and whether or not they've been "educated" by previous trappers. Typically, the first few beavers are relatively easy to remove from a property. However, as they see more and more traps (and are missed), beavers become very educated about traps and those last few beavers can be very difficult to challenge to remove.

Because of this, it is always recommended to let someone with experience remove the beaver from your property. If you're able to shoot them, great! If not, it's best to let an experienced trapper handle the job.

Clarification of Our Removal / Trapping Services: No Relocation

For clarity, our trapping service at Reel Texas Outdoors is a kill service. We do not live-trap and relocate the beaver to another place. We understand that this can seem inhumane, but the issue you are having now on your property will become someone else's if and when beaver are relocated. With this in mind, we do exterminate the beaver we catch.
